Hi All
I`m removing the Tri-Spark electronic ignition unit to fit in its place a Pazon Altair Ignition system. (Is that creating any curiosity!!)....... Anyway Im not confident with electrics and wonder if anyone happens to know the modification and just how the existing tri-spark wiring connections need to be altered to connect up to the Pazon unit?
Many thanks

I suggest you study the Tri-Spark instruction sheet wiring diagram (if you haven't already done so)?: http://www.trispark.com.au/images/Class ... 202013.pdf

The two standard 6V coils are wired "in series" for both systems, (assuming the electrical system is still standard positive earth/ground) it should only be a reasonably simple matter of disconnecting and removing Tri-Spark (Classic Twin?) module and rotor (an M8 bolt will be needed to extract the rotor) and replacing them with the Altair rotor and pickup, and connecting the Altair module and pickup wiring according to the Pazon instructions for (presumably) positive earth/ground.

Shout if you get stuck, as we can go through it in more detail if you hit a problem.

I fitted an Altair, one thing that caught me out was the tiny wires in the multi block, on the trigger board. Make sure you get a really good contact here.
But otherwise I love this ignition, I changed from a Mk111 Boyer.

Cheers Richard

OK....I'll bite.

Why are you changing out your Tri-Spark for a Pazon ?????? :?

Hi
Thanks for your replies. I appreciate the rotor requires changing, but was kinda hoping I might be able to dissconect one and plug in the pazon without to much head scratching!! Have just ordered the Pazon so it will be a few days yet.
Why am I changing........ Well all credi to Steve Kelly in sending me three new units, and works a treat. But I've not managed to do more than between three to four thousand miles on each before it stutters and packs up .
My Norton isn't a rattler and runs the smoothest and best its ever been since throwing money at it. I 'V owned it from new in 1973.
