I don't find reversed camplates listed anywhere. Norvil will modify one's own for tidy sum.
I was thinking, isn't a Mark III camplate a reversed camplate??
Is there any reason a Mark III camplate won't work in an earlier gear box??

cam plate

Hi Mike,
If memory serves me well, I believe last year some time a German fellow "HRD" claimed you could press the spindle out of your present cam, turn the cam around, press the spindle back in, presto, a reverse cam plate.

justa thought,
G.B.

MichaelB,

There is no difference in camplates between a MkIII and earlier gearboxes. The direction of motion is changed inside the primary case with a set of gears linking the foot pedal with the shaft that goes across the engine cradle.

Thanks Ron, I had forgotten about the rotational change in the primary.
I did notice the Mark III has a different part # and found the diff is in the neutral switch detent, not the shift pattern.
