I haven’t posted in a while here goes.So my bike is a early CNW build
# 012.I have been the steward of this 71 750 for 20+ years…I feel really lucky and am grateful that I get to enjoy this machine. Had a storage issue and was forced to keep the bike in a enclosed trailer for….longer than it should’ve .
I have been working on undoing what the weather did and I hate to say it…my bad choices.I had the usual suspects that needed attention…fluids…new brake master cylinder..some not so friendly stubborn fasteners. I found a defective LED tail-stop light…that required a bit of engineering as the company that made the light conversion is long gone. I gutted the taillight housing and fabricated a way to mount a complete new light fixture from amazon…wired up simple and better than before. I had to clean and polish all the brite work…a ton of work but worth the effort. I have several body kits for this bike…the stock roadster with the paint and graphics ( see it on the
CNW website in the gallery..find
012 and you’ll see it) the black anodized primary cover has since been swapped out for a super polished one. I also have a nice metal I-state tank…I didn’t come up with the idea…I just copied it.
It is the “interback”…fastback tail and seat with I-state tank and side panels…I have been collecting stuff for the bike for years and as you all know..the bike can be converted to any of the combos.I also have the Long range tank. I can do it in about 90 minutes taking my time
I’m going to set it up with the OE body work. I have “rebonded” with my trusty ole norton annnnd
I found a complete Kehin flatside carb kit…brand new in the box i found a complete rear set kit CNW…I felt like id just invented the wheel when I uncovered this stash.
I hope to keep you guys informed of my progress

Zefer,
Are the pictures of the taillight what you found on Amazon? I have the same size housing and would love to find a better light. Was the company that went south “bulbs that last forever “ or something like that?
Thanks,
Mike

There is a name, address & website on the PC board pictured.

Very much look forward to your future posts. Btw, looking at the original shots on Matt’s site your bike shipped with the FCRs, no? So you replaced them with a single and now going back, have I read that correctly.

Congrats anyway, wonderful bike. Love mine too, #101. RobSS is #134, we’re getting quite a little community 🤣🤣🤣

Not sure if I will put the flat slides on…thinking about euro bars with my interstate kit

So the tail light comes from revzilla sku# 1067763
Refered to as bike master mini LED tail light…. And yes bulbsthatlastforever.com is kaput
This conversion was simple and I could not be more pleased !
Hope this helps

hi on----
the painting for my avatar was painted by grace slick
I have been "on the bus" for many many years
saw my first show in 1973 Baltimore civic center dicks pick # 54
legendary playin in the band

cNw sells them:

No Matt does not I was speaking with him about the board they used to use for the beehive lamp
The CO bulbsthatlastforever.com
Is long gone.

I’m contemplating setting it up with interstate trim. I have several sets of different commando trim
See what you think. The seat is pretty cool too. I had a local guy redo the corbin seat…gel and he had enough ostrich quill to do the insert
Have a look

I’m in a similar boat, have just swapped from Roadster to Interstate trim, also with Corbin seats.

I like both and see myself swapping back and forth as the mood takes me!

Personally, I think the Interstate benefits hugely from some pinstripes, the tank can kinda look a tad big and shapeless without, to my eye at least.
