Well, hears a very long shot.
You've got the oil pressure gauge installed in the rocker feed take off. I wonder if a rocker shaft or more are rotating and when in wrong position the higher flow is dropping the gauge pressure??
In either case that wouldn't explain the apparent low return rate. Low return and the sump not filling can only mean no supply.
I remember years ago reading an article on fitting oil gauges to Commandos. An ex NVT employee said Norton thought fitting an oil gauge would scare the owner. Hmmmm. Still I wouldn't just ignore the gauge and carry on.
