While there have been several topics on oil line routing not one had any pictures! (At least not with a cursory search) I mean aside from the one from the workshop manual.

Official Oil Line Routing Thread (2010)

This shows which lines go where but not exactly how to get them there.

Outside line goes to the banjo.

Here it is from the back.

The inside line goes to the filter. I just have it sitting here for placement purposes.

I went up and over the rear iso and down to the filter.

The last line will come up from the filter housing right to the tube on the tank.

What say you? Am I close?

swoosh, you,re close, just follow the diagram it shows you where they should be its up to you which route you want to take

That how my wife says I navigate. I usually get lost.

I think the hose to the filter goes between the engine cradle, not over the rear iso on the outside. At least that is how it is on my bike.

Never any problems.

Both lines go parallel to each other through the cradle. The metal spiral protectors are necessary if you want the lines to not chaff through.

I certainly would not want to route the feed pipe as well as the return through cradle -as there's no reason to do so? Doing that would also divert the feed pipe away from the easiest natural path between the oil tank banjo and the oil pipe junction block.
Also the parts diagrams show there's no spiral protector on the feed pipe (incorrect '72 diagram excepted) only on the return, which suggests that the feed pipe isn't intended to pass through the cradle.

The drawing: Fig. F8 in section F of the factory manual shows what I would consider to be the correct routing for the feed pipe: http://britmoto.com/manuals/Manuals/750_man.pdf (pdf page 94).

Now, cram a second, upper swingarm section, and a bunch of rising rate linkage in the space behind the engine, and try routing those lines again!

(It can be done, but your options are far fewer)

Yes, the return pipe would normally go through the cradle with the 063367 coiled protection sleeve on it.

Through the cradle where? Parts diagrams and factory illustrations don't show what you are talking about. Do you mean through the cradle below the rear iso?

Is this what you mean? It's a much shorter path but there are "sharp" edges on both the cradle and airbox to contend with.

Exactly.

But the fact that yours has the adjuster shouldn't mean there's insufficient clearance to route the pipe through the cradle, especially as maylar reckons he can get both of them through there, and I don't believe he owns a MkIII?

Until he posts a picture we don't know where he's routing his.

But those pics from Horton look great. Thanks!

I feel like I know your bike a little too well after that last picture. Like I should leave some money on the seat or something...

Here's the "Oil filter kit fitting instructions" http://britmoto.com/manuals/Manuals/Oil_Kit.pdf

Quote:

"8. Slide the protection springs over both new oil return pipes.

9. Route the kickstart side oil return pipe up through the space between the engine plate and rear of the gearbox casing, over the top of the gearbox inner cover and engage to the inboard oil junction block pipe at least 1¼in. (32mm), securing with the new screw type clip."

Your oil pipe look as if it could be thicker walled (and therefore stiffer) than the original, so that would probably make fitting it a little more difficult-but maybe not impossible? I think a protection spring would be a useful addition.
