69 Fastback oil line routing

Hi I am restoring a 69 Commando Fastback The oil tank has 2 connections coming off the bottom One is threaded which I assume is the main oil feed to the engine Is the second one the return? On all other tanks I have worked on the return enters at the top of the tank. Any guidance here would be appreciated. Thx Drummer99
