Glad the plates fit :D

Jean

For everyone else, you wouldn't beleive the number of e-mails we sent back and forth measuring this and that in order to make alloy plates that are 5/16" thick fit where the old ones were 3/16" steel, and somewhat not altogether straight.

Right you are, Ludwig.

"Whatever the PAYING customer wants, the customer GETS!"

Hence the shouldered alloy wheels, single Mikuni carb and custom mounting plates,also...

I thought that was "Hammer to Fit, Paint to Match"?

That was the saying on the last Mini I did.

Yeah, man. I got all new engine & tranny mounting hardware, started to fit it all up, but found out I might need to clearance the inner primary "chain guard" lip to clear Jean's custom engine mount plates right at the snail cam primary chain adjuster abutment. The assemblage is thicker than the original single top tranny mount bolt head which must have JUST cleared originally.

 Never thought about that. If you want I could machine a SS bolt with a very shallow head so it doesn't interfere with the primary cover. Let me know.

No, I am thinking of fabricating a nice bolt-on chainguard and mounting it on the backside of the primary cover at the forward point of the cast-in lip where there is an ample reinforcing "shelf" that will acccommodate it quite nicely. Then, I can trim away ample clearance (on the cast-in aluminum lip) to access the primary chain adjuster hardware by simply removing the steel chainguard.

I already have the materials and pattern for this, I used an identical repair on a Commando that had suffered a blown chain. You can't even tell it's not stock.

No worries!

Paul, The chain guard moves with the swing arm and so both attachment points were=are on the swing arm. So how does this work with one end moving and the front side fixed? Have you found a way to build a bracket that uses the swing arm pivot?

I'm talking about the cast-in chain guard lip that's on the backside of the inner primary cover!

Interesting, my sidecovers were red I think, were they different colors or is this creativity?

Did you not see the rest of the bike? Creative license has been taken.

That's the oil tank. The sidecovers and tank are Candy Apple Red metalflake.

Nope. Header pipes will be cut, extended, re-welded at a different angle, then re-chromed.
