I believe you can remove the head with the engine in frame but you will need to remove the 4 pushrods in order to remove the head. To do so, you will need to remove the exhaust rocker arms then pull the pushrods.
I found a manual online that 'sort of' describes that it's possible but Ed is more specific. Still, if you don't have this manual it may help in this or other ways. I also refer to a Chilton's that I have. I am finding that hybrid coverage is spotty at best, (especially regarding frame details), so all the help from those with experience is valuable. Page 13 sort of explains, starting with 'Top End'.
