Sharp looking cycle.
Those black pipes look mean.

Remind us what those brakes are again.
Can you do stoppies ?

BTW, did you know its missing the strobe timing plug in the chaincase.
Jist thought we'd mention it...

P.S. Is this the same bike as the Interstate with chrome pipes, looking somewhat like a Mk3, that you show elsewhere here ?

Yes it is on page 47 of pictures of your Norton with an 18" akront wheel with a sprocket you can change an Interstate tank with single seat An old britts electric start a mk3 swingaem and a CNW rear disc setup with a ducati mastercylinder mounted on the left.I had some black 1 5/8 so I have been swapping them around on this other build I am doing.

Forgive me is I'm asking something that's already been covered... but where are your alloy barrels from?

They are beautiful!

The barrels came from Britcycle.com .They are lighter and supposed to diissipate the heat better and look great IMO.

Indeed, they do look great! Please keep us posted as to how you get on with them.

Hi Rohan the brake discs are from norvil spares and the calipers came from from a precision machine shop in Queensland. They were originally called anialators. They are 4 piston caliper, at first we could not get the brakes to work until we put a variable 17-19mm Lockheed master cylinder on,then it was all on with brakes.

Have you ran with the black chrome exhausts for a while? How does the finish hold up? I'm thinking of getting some from Viking.

The exhausts got some melted boot on them from a passenger and I went to clean the last stubborn piece off with solvol autosol and the black chrome just rubs off after a bit of elbow grease. They are not like normal chrome to polish and there is probably a better which I am yet to find out.It seems to hold its colour OK.But in my opinion I will stick with normal chrome in the future Mike

Thanks for that Mike. But in "normal" conditions when just cleaning with soapy water and maybe furniture polish they hold up OK? - and don't discolour too much at the cylinder head end? Also do you reckon the wider pipes make for a deeper or different sound?

@Hobot
Thanks for that bit of racing video. I used to ride that style of bike, and all the old feelings came back while I was watching it. You have given me back the most important factor in motorcycle racing - THE URGE ! Watching that old fool race, you would just have to have a go at him. I'm 70 years old, and I just love guys like that !

This is the first time I have seen this thread. Your comment about being 70 years old. I heard that Len Perry did a few laps at Pukekohe some time ago. He was supposedly only 92 at the time.
Most of the guys racing in the classics here have a LOT of GREY hair. They aren't slow either.

Hi rags there is some discolouring going on .but not enough for a camera to pick up and the sound is much deeper .A friend with a commando heard them and said I want some.I have seen some comments on here about them cracking at the head but maybe that was early days as these are holding up to it.Mike
