That's my Bike! I just stumbled across this thread trying to research P-11 VIN's. You're right Ron L about the side pipes. This is my sixth resto on P-11's . I just prefer the look of the side pipes. The original down pipes with up-swept mufflers go with the bike, along with many other parts. It came to me with the present side stand and works better than original P-11 stands I've encountered in the past. I'm trying to find the manufacture date as it appears to be a very early '68' due to the turned hubs on a P-11A frame. There used to be a thread here somewhere explaining all the VIN series associated with their corresponding years, but I can't find it. I've currently taken it off the "auction site" mentioned above till I can track down a title for this bike. I bought it with a bill of sale but want to sell it with a title, you can understand I'm sure. I bought this bike as an older restoration, running well but needed new carbs and too many other parts to mention. What i'm finding is the state of Ohio, Not my state or the state I bought it from, has the VIN listed as a scrapped vehicle, which is preposterous for such a fine example of motorcycling history. I just have to somehow convince the state of Ohio that this is not scrap! good luck to me right?
