Hi all,

So it was time to build a new store (website parts catalog / shopping cart)

Web site is still fresh and friendly to navigate but I started having issues with the shopping cart that was in place for many years. When I signed up with them (cc-now), they were based out of Minnesota and it was working well. About 4-5 years ago, the company got sold to a corporation that was located on Iceland of all places. When this happened, things started running less smoothly. Because of the location, the cNw sales looked like they were sold from Iceland or some other banks the processor was working with in Europe. This meant that many credit card companies threw up red flags and some of the charges also incurred an international conversion fee. Recently, the company stopped paying the monies they were holding, in a timely manner and towards the end, I didn't know if I would get the funds at all. So it changed from something I was considering, to a priority that needed to be taken care of right away

Enter Jerry Doe, our fearless leader of Access Norton.

I have worked with Jerry on several website services over the last few years, like web hosting etc, and its been absolutely trouble free and smooth. Awesome response on correspondence and he never left me hanging. So nice to deal with someone real as opposed to some web company that doesn't have a face

So when I started thinking about what to do in order to replace my current catalog / cart, his name popped up on top of my list and I started talking to him about what he can offer for a new catalog and shopping cart.

Jerry came up with some great ideas and after looking at a few different things, decided to move forward with a Magento catalog. This is one of the top ones available and I liked the way it looked and worked on the demos he showed me.

Then Jerry created the actual core 'store' with a look and layout that was similar to that of my main website. That said, it is sitting on a separate site, so it takes you away from the main site while on there. This for stability and security reasons as it's getting worse and worse with robots and individuals trying to hack into the site and create all kinds of problems for both my customers and myself. Jerry has these security issues down and put a great system in place to ensure everyone is safe when visiting my site

So as he created the site and different categories and layout, it was my job to start adding product, text and images to it. This was a lot of work but at the same time it allowed me to re-visit every part, change some information, update images and just freshen the whole thing up. With the platform Jerry created, it was very straight forward and he was right there working with me as I was learning the new system. This hands on service in today's internet world is really refreshing and rare in my experience.

We chose to process through Paypal since they are well known, secure and relatively friendly to work with. Even though it is Paypal, one doesn't have to have a Paypal account in order to with it. Very easy to check out with all sorts of payment options as well as Paypal Credit (I know...a bit crazy to offer credit terms but it does allow some people to get what they want now and I myself am guilty to shop like that often)

I was driving Jerry crazy with all the high resolution images I wanted with the parts. While a little slow loading at times, I like to idea of having nice pictures to look at rather than guessing what you are buying. He changed the platform in order for me to fit all those pictures and never once said a thing even though I am sure it was a pain to change it to suit my wants and needs. I am very (very) particular and not necessarily easy to work with because of that

So I am getting a bit long winded but it has taken a couple months to put it all in place and we are open for business in our new store. I could not be happier and working with Jerry is truly great. I would recommend him for any of your web work, hosting, or services that you may need

Still a few more details to work out and I have more product and services to add but for the most part, it's a done deal

Thanks Jerry.....I really do appreciate it !!

PS. Feedback appreciated....good and bad (we can take it)

For a horrible moment, I misread the title and thought you were launching a new range of parts...

I thought the kids were gonna have to have a couple of months of bread and water... again!

(My missus says that CNW stands for Content of Nigel’s Wallet... and she only knows part of the story...!)

Your high res pix are the way to go despite the drawbacks. Your stuff isnt cheap gimcrack
so it only helps show just how nice it is.

Well done!
One thing for Jerry to check - when I tap a pic, if there is more than one pic it advances slideshow instead of enlarging.
Android tablet if that matters...?

Wow, thanks Matt, for the good words. Thanks for helping us keep these bikes on the road. Your cart is in a good place, secure and reliable. I got you covered! There are always a few bugs on these custom cart themes like the one we made you. I think we got most of them though.

Tom, thanks I will take a look.

I was finally able to get out on the road this weekend. Took the Mk3 on a 150 mile ride yesterday. Bike didnt miss a beat. Everything still perfect and the starter still works. Got about 10,000 miles on it now.

Cheers

I forgot to mention that its been driving me nuts looking at all the great parts and bike photos.

Funny! (But true I am sure)

Matt, I don't find it hard to believe that you are "very (very) particular"!

Matt and I did a deal a long time ago. I pay for parts and he pays for my services. It works out. I do need to buy some parts soon;):)

Hey Matt,
There is some debris on the ground that is reflecting into your shot of that shiny/polished primary cover....maybe you can fix it with Lightroom or Photoshop but you probably need to shoot it again;).

Great, more upgrade offerings from cNw. I have already changed the password to my Excell restoration project twice just to keep “her” from taking a wrench to me.

The high rez pics are the right call. What is that cool looking component called that attaches the top of the head to the frame:)?

I think you mean this picture? I'm pretty sure no one thinks the blemishes are in the cover.

I have done a bit of biz with Matt be it barter or purchase.
He is always accommodating with his technical insight and is a stand up businessman.
Yeah, cNw products are on the high end cost wise but like most everything else....you get what you pay for.
I have never had an issue of any sort with product he has supplied while restoring my bike and the fit and finish of his product/offerings is of a quality that is always admirable.

I was just trying to get a rise out of him a bit with my previous post:D.
