This was an Interstate seat Jordan, altered by Upholsterer.

Aren't historical plates pretty restrictive?...as in where you can go and how far, etc...? I know laws are different everywhere though so maybe not.

If remember correctly, if you have antique plate in SC you can't drive after dark. What are those Signal Lights, I really like then when compared to Lucas.

Looking Good with that resto.

Nice seat, Aussie!

Idk what the restrictions are for antique plates here but for a $16/year savings I think I'll just continue running the standard plate. /shrug

Oh, and I took a step in the right direction on getting tins painted.. I may just be sending dad's tank and covers out very soon (I really wish I could find the "correct" interstate battery side cover so I didn't have to modify a reproduction!).. ;D

I"ve got 6 to tag, so the savings add up after a while. It's a few pints at the Free State Brewery!

Woohoo! Resleeved master cylinder is here! She's beautiful!

I'm trying to hunt down a couple of stainless button-head allen bolts that are 3/8" (fine thread) and ~1.75" long so I can use them to mount my mirrors. I bought bar-end mirrors from CommandoSpecialties, but I don't really want to hack up my nice, new handlebars or my grips, so I figured out a way to mount them using the factory holes..I just need those damn bolts! I checked all over town and had no luck. Guess I'll have to order online instead. It's crazy, but those bar-end mirrors actually look really neat when manipulated to work using the factory mounts. I never would have figured it, but from the mockup I was quite impressed--they almost seem to fit my 'theme' without any modification other than the bolt!

The Corbin is packed up and ready to ship out to its new owner (kind of makes me sad to see it go, to be quite honest). I haven't heard anything back yet from the seller of my interstate seat/pan, so that's making me kind of nervous, but I'm sure it'll work out.....I hope, anyway. If not, I'm seatless once again. ;( We'll see.

Yes that bike goes very well, Good seat, good tank, good brake, good rims, good belt drive.. oh yeah good twin carbies.
Only trouble is it's not mine.
That's a nice Purple.

I was out at dad's tonight to pick up my tank and side covers to send out for paint.. I wasn't going to take any pictures, but he wanted me to take some pictures of things he's done in the past few days:

Instrument cups and clutch perch sandblasted and ready for paint:

Up-close look at how the signals are mounted. Dad was particularly proud of them, lol:

Ordered a new clutch cable, tach cable, speedo cable, some other misc crap, and an MK3 side cover mounting kit ($80--oww). What the hell, it's only money, right? ;\

Still waiting on the eBay seat/seat pan to get here so I can get a new seat upholstered..Hopefully soon...

Thanks pelican, I like it!

Hopefully the bike will be OFF sawhorses by this weekend (if not sooner), with the front end thrust into place and fluid put into the forks. Then the exhaust can be installed and I'll really feel like I've gotten somewhere! Wiring should be completed this weekend as well.

The seat and extra pan arrived today. The seat is in pretty good shape, albeit a bit dorky with the ribbed pattern. Nevertheless, it gives me something to run in the event that it takes me a while to get a custom seat made on the pan (I can't seem to get hold of the upholsterer--I think she went to Sturgis and isn't back yet). The pan, as I found out, is a NOS part from Rabers, circa 1996. Interesting.

I've got dad's tins packed up and ready to ship out tomorrow. I'm hoping to have them back in time for when my bike is finished, but if not the black/gold tins will suffice until I get them back.. ;)

There really aren't that many more tasks left at this point, it's just a matter of going out and doing the work. I'll be headed out tomorrow after work to see what I can get accomplished. I'm getting antsy to ride this thing!

Cut the cable to suit.
Remember, the last 5% of a rebuild takes 90% of the time.
Nice bike!

There's no way to do that as far as I can tell, at least with the cable I've got. It has a ball-end for the throttle assy. I'm going to need a new cable.

Just a google image for color reference. But yes, Skyline GT-R, stateside or otherwise.. Beautiful!

Hey Jordan,

What is the distance from the kick starter to the top iscolastic bolt ?, looks very close.....

Got a little bit done, albeit not nearly enough...

Started off by polishing the switch covers:

Then we got the bike back on two wheels (removed the box that was supporting the frame rails):

Then I polished the caliper and the new stainless pistons and blanking cap were installed:

We're going to paint the inside of the caliper where the "Norton-Lockheed" lettering is. Once that's taken care of, the letters will be wiped lightly with lacquer thinner so we've got the polish offsetting the black paint.

More work tomorrow after 3:30. Need to go order a throttle cable..
