Man Castles

I think Jerry added the ability to embed YouTube vids but not movie files from Photobucket.

Ron says no cleaning, so as soon as it stops storming I'll snap a couple shots of my garage.

That is WAY too clean, you must have a dirty mind

Did you make the lift yourself? if so, good job, it looks as good as the commercial ones.

Jean

And for a little contrast to the last set...

Man Castles

Two cars, four+ bikes and assorted other stuff. Patio chairs hanging go outside in the summer.

Man Castles

Can anyone spot the bikes? I won't count the one in the rafters...

Sorry Jean this is the way I work (dirty hands, clean environment) and yes the lift is home made but not by myself.

Feast your eyes, folks! By popular request, here are a few pics from my little workshop:

The overall view. It's a little more cramped right now because I put the car back in. Too cold to ride to work and I hate scraping windows in the morning.

A close up of the bikes' side. Riders at the rear, projects up front:

One of two workbenches. Never enough bench space!

Someone asked about posters on *my* wall. I only have one:

And finally, some routine maintenance for the new arrival (2002 Ducati 998 Superbike):

Excellent Debby! Thanks for posting. You got it BAD too! (Bike Fever that is :)

I didn't known there was any "routine" maintenance on a four-valve!

Even with my two-valvers everything seems to be a major undertaking. I think I can rebuild my Norton in the time it takes to re-shim the valves.

nortonspeed gets the prize for the cleanest shop.

Doug, your shop looks more cluttered than mine. At least with our "compact" shops we don't have to go too far to get our tools.

Hey Swooshdave, I can only see 3 bikes but I'm not counting anything above the rafters.

I'm thinking of having a winch up in my rafters as I have a 16'Lx8'Wx4'-6'H storage area above me with a 6'x8' opening above my shop so I could lift a whole bike up and store it up there if I wanted. Also I could lift a bike and set it on a work stand so I don't have to buy a lift. Another idea I'm toying with instead of a lift is cutting a hole in my asphalt floor and burying a hydraulic lift in the floor. Then have 2 interchangeable tops to bolt on. One small square one fits to the frame rails and the other long narrow one under the wheels. It couldn't move around but in my little shop there's no where to move the bike on a lift anyway.

That's how tight the Bultacos are packed. There are actually three there. I'm thinking of building a "perch" in the corner and sticking one of them up there. One less bike to move to get to the workbench.

Awesome, Debby. I've always wanted a Husky 250, I had to setttle for my Rickman Montesa (not a bad 2nd choice...)

That's the spirit. Don't see any mess so i guess you must have cleaned it. All I notice are all those windows and all that space. Another shop to envy:(

You must get good light in there in the day time.

Nortonspeed,
what a nice work space. All whitworth wrenches neatly accounted for on the back wall!!
I like it
Mine are all tossed in the drawer.

Well Marshal actually it's just that lot of wrenches. Rest of my tools are tossed in drawers and boxes as well  .

God I cant even bare the thought of posting a photo of my garage! I can look in! but I cant get in!
IF the rain stops at the weekend ie daylight hours I might gat a chance to get out there!
I really should be looking to move everything to a lock up & bringing back only the bits I need for one bike project at a time!
Chris

I hope it is another jubilee or navigator becouse the other one must have felt alone I had one (of each) and did thrash them ! They never went bang . I wouldn't mind getting another one just to upset those who say they were rubbish but never had one.mind you the Jubilee did not exactly stick to the road......but then that made it even harder to follow as you were never sure where it was going to

lynxnsu-I like your lathe, its bigger than mine but then so is your workshop.
