I have got to get back to finishing the Paris- Dakar Norton. It was nearly finished when I had my shop fire. The engine was a total loss and I'm sure the trans is a rusty mess inside but the frame and suspension came through with no problems. Jim

WOW! I'd be happy just knowing what to do with 1/2 that stuff! You get my vote too!

When I bought my house 10 years ago they made me sign a piece of paper stating the Barn was of no value. I said okay.

It is just nice to have dry space,

I'm willing to wager that E-Type is worth more than the garage...

Yep, totally worthless.

Lowered your property taxes did it?

They don't let us set any property values no matter what the circumstance; the county appraiser does it all and there isn't a whole lot of breath worth wasting arguing thier findings.

Bob850 has quite the nice "worthless" barn. A Jag E type, a Tr6, a Mini, was that 3 Brit bikes and a hidden 80's Camaro.

But Jim, a Paris to Dakar Norton? Is that the mono shock project?

Yes, that's the monoshock project. Theres a big yellow plastic tank and fenders to fit up in the shelves.

The E type is a 69 Series 2 2+2. It runs great and gets lots of use. If it was a roadster or a coupe it would be worth 2 to 3 more and I would probably would not be driving it as much as I do.

It could look like this when you're done...

I saw this on another forum and it was a lot of fun.

Okay, SHOW US YOUR MAN CASTLE
This was a great idea and has proven to be more than fun! It's totally interesting but I keep thinking of some members like Debby who have been on here a lot longer than me and may feel excluded because of the title. Things have changed since the 60's and 70's and a lot of WOmen are doing what was traditionally guy stuff like military service, policing, astronaulting and bike building to list a few.

So comon gals, we showed ours now show us yours! Posters an' all! : )

Seriously gals, you've proven to be every bit a part of this forum as any of us and we value your input.

Ha! I will admit the title of this thread put me off a bit. But it's nice to feel included. :D

I don't have any pics up on photobucket at the moment, so I can't put anything up right now, being at work and all. I'll see about getting some snapshots of my humble little She Cave as soon as I can. Stay tuned...

Man Castle? Not the term I would use to describe it. I'd love to have a big pole building like Grand Paul and Jim, but at least for now I'm cramming everything into a 20 X 20 (heated!) where I do the most of the work.

With the overflow and light maintenance in an adjoining (unheated) garage.

Taking these pictures made me realize how much I need to clean up and organize (again). Life and work keep me out of the shop more than I'd like, so it gets messy quickly. Someday when I retire....

If this is still going in a month I'll post a pic. thats how long it will take me to clean it up.

That's not fair!!! Show it like it is when you work in it!

See? I told you this could be fun :D For the ladies of the group, I will be more than happy to change the title to Bike Castles if you would like, but I truly did not mean to exclude you. I know there are more out there with work shops for their Nortons and other rides. Come everyone let's see your Bike Castles.

Sorry Ron but you get no sympathy from me. 20x20 plus about another 20x20 = 20X40. Nope, you get no sympathy from me.

I suppose if we could have everything we wanted there'd be a lot more Jay Leno's garages around. I wonder if he's getting over crowded yet. I don't think there is such thing as too much space.

Yeah, none of us cleaned ours up! ... honest.

HA!

It'll never happen.

...unless you stop tinkering and riding. Then, what's the point? I didn't clean mine...
