I just picked up a pair of NJ306E.M.C3 FAG bearings. The cage is the M,(machined brass retainer, rolling element riding) as opposed to the M1,[ machined brass retainer, rolling element riding(crosspiece riveted)] which is usually recommended. Is the M as opposed to the M1 an acceptable cage design, or is this thing going to designate into a million pieces?

Jim,
I am so glad to hear that, specially based on your experiences. These bearing are deceptively complex little devils with endless variations.
Thanks so much for the reply.
