I built a Commando based LSR bike with a couple friends, Herb Becker and Bill Egan. Here are some photos:

Added 5" to the swingarm, boxed it in and extended the tail section. Made new rear shock mounts with 2 positions; stock ride height and -2".

Big thanks to Joker Manchine for hooking me up with a beautiful set of clip ons and rearsets. Great stuff!

I want my feet way back, but they have to be 6" in front of the rear axle, hence the 5" swingarm stretch. Needed new plates to locate the foot controls.

Actually using freakin' laser beams to align rear wheel and driveline.

Time to start thinking about my race suit. Wanted it to look classic. And not be black.

Went with a Vanson, as I'd heard only great things. They where easy to deal with and pretty casual. They sent me this rendering.

Well, here we are so far (in the thread, anyway...) 5" swingarm stretch, 5" seat pan stretch, waiting on a 2" sectioning of the gas tank to reduce height. Honda CB650 forks and wheels. Thanks as well to Apex Cycle for hooking my up with the Avon V rated tires. Much (much) more to come later.

Quite a project. It will be interesting to see the final result.

Now THIS is an interesting project! Great work so far; somebody has a fair sized stack of play money, which makes the wheels go round and round (faster and faster, too)...

Seat painted; exaust bent up, welded and painted, including handmade reverse cones.

Tanks sectioned and painted. Bike is roughed together. still have to make fittings and cables for the rear brake, wiring, etc.
