Kill Switch - would like it to work...

Okay, after incorrectly hooking up the throttle to a single Mikuni and hearing the engine roar to high rpms, sending me into near-panic :shock: I instinctively kit the red kill switch. Nothing. A few seconds later I turned the key and, let's just say, I'm glad that's over. Bike seems to be fine, runs normally when the throttle is connected properly... :oops:

But I would really like the kill switch to work. I was thinking it was the switch itself, but after pulling that off and testing it, it seems to be fine. White/yellow stripe line is hot until I hit the switch, then it cuts.

I would guess that this hot kill switch line isn't hooked up?? Bike has a Pazon eletronic ignition, otherwise stock electrics.

Anyone know where this white/yellow kill line should be hooked up to? I'm dreading taking the tank off again, but I'm sure that's a given. Any insight is, once again, deeply appreciated.

Originally, White/Yellow [*WY] would have gone to the large rubber block connector, and then to the ballast resistor (as White/Blue [*WU]) which is no longer part of the ignition system with a Pazon. So whoever fitted the Pazon has most likely bypassed the kill switch circuit and connected the Pazon box directly into the main feed circuit wiring (White harness wiring)?

So (presuming positive ground?) you would need to disconnect whichever wire (White?) that's connected to the Pazon box White wire, and then connect the White/Yellow- White/Blue) instead.

Excellent - thanks very much, I would imagine a direct line to the Pazon is exactly what we are looking at here. I saw the change from WY to WU on the diagram, but was confused because on the diagram WU goes straight to the coils through said ballast resistor. I wasn't mentally placing the Pazon in that spot. This makes sense, I hope it works. Tank coming off...

Although it probably isn't important due to the Pazon system being fitted, the wire between the ballast resistor and coils ('71-'74) is usually White/Violet but it isn't marked as such on the wiring diagram.

When they were new they are fine. When they are 37 years old and you are on a dirt road on your own 140Kms from the nearest gas station and it stuffs up, you'll want to bypass that sucker permanently.
