RON.L Please disregard my last post I did not realise you had already answered my question
Either I need to find some new springs for my tensioners (see pictures on my blog archive) and whatever other components there are in those plungers
The spring in the top plunger was completely in pieces the bottom one was on the way to being the same and it does not look like these parts are sold separately
There was a bush inside each of the plungers one copper the other chrome and different sizes so it looked a bit bodgie and the manual is not very clear on the parts that make up the unit
L.A.B made the observation that the primary chain was worn out. This may have been due to the top tensioner having collapsed or it collapsed because it is worn out, knowing how these things go It will probably need to be replaced
The inside of the cog and the bush look fine, I Guess the technical data would specify the optimum length of links on the chain
I am a bit confused but it seems there is a belt drive option which retains the starter. Thanks L.A.B I will be going for the belt drive option
