Been kicking for about an hour.

I have a sore ankle and a gashed calf. These rearsets look cool, but when you kick through first you try to miss the shifter which is directly aimed for you shin and then as you come through the footpeg (which is up) catches you right in the calf. Awesome.

It'll start first kick, right?

Put a spark tester on it and got it to light once in a while. Not sure if that's just the Boyer not liking it?

Got a three foot flame out the back once.

Got an I'm-almost-going-to-fire moment once.

Cleaned the pilot jets out again.

Guess next is to break out the timing wheel and make sure we're not way off.

There is a whole bunch of video of me kicking to no avail. Yes, I'll post it, you bastards. Later.

And dang, it looks good just sitting there.

Great effort but I guess she's just not ready yet. Maybe you should try dinner and a movie first.

Sounds like the extemporanium could be shorting out. Or it could be the superfluator doesn't have a good ground :o
Barring that, check the timing isn't 90deg out. Beautiful bike, and yes. We want the unedited video please!

It look hilarious when it's sped up. :?

First person who suggests the kill switch is going to get a dead cat in the mail.

I'll bet you have mistimed the ignition. Your description of popping and *almost* firing makes me say this.

Don't send it by UPS, those idiots charge brokerage fees on anything

Ahem, did you check the kill switch? (toungue in cheek of course)

flood the carbs profusely, kick it like you mean it and give it some throttle too. You did turn on the ignition didn't you

Ah so the stubborn Norton calf tattoo. There is a foot and knee version to earn yet too. Sorta a philosophical quandary arises in me on this, how many times do ya kick before you stop and try something else before kicking some more?
I've come to call it quits after two, giving the first one away and not well executed.
My bud Wes was by and his starts most the time one kick as it did to move Cdo from house to shed. When it came time to leave 30 min later it took 6 kicks.
Its nice to feel good all over once the solution is found back to easy starts.
I know a Combat can be hand started. Occasionally with electric brain ignitions it can start up on steady idle just turning the key on.

Hmm, I think I stopped reading the Boyer instructions somewhere about when it says "horizontal" or "line up with Norton". When I actually set it up on the white dot, well, a couple more kicks and she lit right up. Wife said the ground vibated. I said, it's suppose to do that when a Norton starts.

Video (complete with my ass crack) for all of you later tonight, need to take the wife to dinner now.

Good to have another Norton breathe new life.
Congrats. Doesn't it just sound sweet with the Norton Snortin 8)

I hit it with proper timing and that worked.[/quote said:
I assumed you had done that. I would never kick it over without proper timing. I love my leg.

PS. I don't always get these quotes right.
