I see in Pazon's instructions it states: "We recommend fitting NGK 5K resistor (suppressor) type plug caps (orsimilar good quality make), but you can also fit non-resistor caps." Any thoughts on whether or not suppressor caps need to be used?
As the instructions say, it isn't necessary to fit resistor plug caps (
or resistor plugs) in order for analogue/analog electronic ignitions to function properly (such as; Boyer Micro Mk III/MkIV, Rita, Sure-Fire etc.).
However, without some form of suppression, the ignition system will emit a lot of "noise" which can result in local TV and radio interference, and in some cases it can also affect other digital electronic systems on the vehicle, such as a Sparx reg/rec box.
Digital ignition systems normally require either 5 kOhm suppressed caps or plugs to be fitted for that reason.

Are there any useful tips for doing this installation?
The success or failure of any electronic ignition installation can depend on how well it is wired up.
Every electrical connection should be as near perfect as you can make it, and that includes the earth/ground connections.
Never make connections by using twisted wire "tape joints".
