Original battery is fine, most issues with starting relate to starter motor solenoid contacts. Try cleaning them up. one of Richard Cootes manuals address this issue. You can try contacting him via this forum for a copy.Hello,my 2017 has a Yuasa battery fitted from new.Could some nice person recommend a replacement for this something a bit more powerful, thankyou.
Does it do this every time you let the bike sit for 6 days ? You can pull the fuse that feeds the optimate/clocks circuit and wait your six days and test again ? To be sure you have the correct fuse pulled put a DVM on the battery charging plug . The 12V will be gone from that plug when you pull the correct fuse.Owned from new which was 2017,mileage about 2900.
Let us know when you put the HD starter in . Is it the flat crinkle black color ?Long history of battery drain from the clocks. Just seen a bike with a new tacho fitted at the factory but they couldn't guarantee that it would 100% fix the drain.
Can you confirm symptoms? If it does struggle to start but fires it will probably run like a dog until it warms a bit then off, count to 10 and restart.
I have had 2 starters fail in 4 years, rebuilding the brush assemblies to keep them going. After machining new brushes to replace the ones which disintegrated it started fine. Just bought a Harley one ready to fit. Tried a new battery but no improvement 2017 CR euro 4

Hello, bike from new worst thing ever bought but gave it chances. Was taking it to where I bought it for oil/filter bike says no.Get in touch with new owners(TVS)bit pointless.Stood for months then sought advice from good people on this forum which helped but 6 days flattened battery, changing from cafe racer to straight bars so in need of new braided clutch so when all connected we shall see, will leave on optimate till then.Does it do this every time you let the bike sit for 6 days ? 2016 Sport speedo drawing the battery down had to charge the battery every 4/5 days. Placed a small wired switch under the seat wired into the fuse box so I can switch the live to the speedo off when stood. Just come back off holiday bike stood for 10 days voltage still at 12.4 volts and startedHello, bike from new worst thing ever bought but gave it chances. Was taking it to where I bought it for oil/filter bike says no.Get in touch with new owners(TVS)bit pointless.Stood for months then sought advice from good people on this forum which helped but 6 days flattened battery, changing from cafe racer to straight bars so in need of new braided clutch so when all connected we shall see, will leave on optimate till then.
There must be a way to change the supply to the speedo to a switched source via the ignition switch. The clock will never be right but a reliable bike is probably preferable right ?2016 Sport speedo drawing the battery down had to charge the battery every 4/5 days. This OR get the speedo serviced like Gojuu did. There must be a way to change the supply to the speedo to a switched source via the ignition switch. The clock will never be right but a reliable bike is probably preferable right ?
That's an odd one, as the rev counter doesn't have a permanent live on euro4 onwards bikes. If you look at the wiring diagram, euro4 rev counters are wired via the ecu shut down relay instead.Long history of battery drain from the clocks. If euro 4, I measured the hoses as needing an extra 5.5" adding to the clutch and to the brake line when converting from clipons to high bars (on a Domi at least, but should be the same). I have a supplier that uses Hel components in their aftermarket hose kits, so it was a like for like. Euro3, I may have a spare clutch hose for high bars, I'll have a look later today.Hello, bike from new worst thing ever bought but gave it chances.
The person saying this was not the engineer who did the work and seemed to be looking at the speedo so I did wonder if it was a tip of the slongue. Not sure of the year but it was pre my euro 4 clocks. Odd that some drain the battery yet others ok does this mean the internals are different? Haven’t looked at the circuit but is it for the TOD clock? And if circuitry is pulling this current continually can’t be good for its longevity. Without trawling the forums does this problem exist on post euro4 ~2017 bikes? If so then it will need resolving for any new builds. That's an odd one, as the rev counter doesn't have a permanent live on euro4 onwards bikes.
