Rohan, the problem with people saying their religion is motorcycles or jedi knight or what ever else is thought of is that the thousands of imigrants will write their religion and that is what the so called government will have to cater to.

deleted,,,,,,,

I would like to see Norton succeed.

I think all this cock and bull should stop right now! Jerry Doe built this site to help NORTON COMMANDO owners and other's to pass NORTON info and ALL THINGS NORTON onto fellow NORTON minded people. This site should be used with respect to Jerry's original idea....it's not a Orange Box. I ask all to respect this great site, and put politicaly views some where else , By the way have you seen the riots in London  only joking

I already turned my replies back on topic, and will stay there. This thread is actually interesting.

Can L.A.B. delete specific posts? That would work...

Sadly things like wars being fought for the economic gain of a tiny minority, and heavy taxes imposed on the less well off, affect pretty much everyone in the world, and not completely sure that these things are not worthy of discussion here?

Which ones?

The ones that do not address the original subject (including mine).

I don't consider anyone has broken any forum rules-so far, therefore I would be reluctant to delete any of the posts-as I think this discussion has probably run out of steam anyway-but if not, then I hope the forum members will try to steer it back on topic?

Curious, isn't it, how "greed" is assigned to capitalists alone?

What about envy?

Class warfare/envy - greed's twin.

BSAs envious that they aren't Nortons, Nortons envious that they aren't Triumphs...

They're all greedy twins.

You must be confused. If I was a Triump- I would want to be a Norton. :D

To me the bikes look a lot better in person then in pictures. I saw one at a show 6 months ago & was pleasantly surprized how cool it looked. I don't know enough about economics to speak to their $ situation but I for one realy hope he pulls it off & the company makes it. I don't realy care for new Triumphs, new "retro" Guzzi's or any of that stuff but I like the Norton. I'm not a potential buyer just for the simple fact that modern bikes don't interest me, I will say though if I was looking into modern bikes now there would be a Duck in my garage first but if Mr G. can make it I would rather have that new bike be a Norton.

I for one would like to see Norton succeed regardless of a loan. And that may what Norton needs, perhaps the loan amount may not be enough. My concern would be that if it folded too soon, what would be the availability of spare parts for these 961 Nortons already produced? Owners having a cycle and can't get spares? Another factor for Norton survival is the price of these 961's, a tad too high for my wallet. I'll just keep putting a few bucks here and there in the one's I already own which I'm glad to have.

I swear I can feel Trixie Combat shudder at times evolving towards Harley's...

That's just misfiring neurons and a loose wingnut. Then again could just be a little mental intercourse. :p

Well what is any cycle over 250 cc for anywho, sheeze.
But if we face facts our closest relative still sharing genes of designers and swapping parts are Harley Davisons'. Its routine I'm invited to ride with normals and premitted by the Color'd clubs, but they turn away assian breeds in disgust. I can ride my Combat into a restricted HD only gathering and heard a few tell me similar stories at Empire rally. Name another cycle that is rubber mounted, push rod air cooled with separated engine and gear box. Of course the week before INOA rally the HD crowd burnt down the place and kept party going while it burned and 2 gals in bikini handle out Coors from a stack 10 ft square on a side, 24/7, and they did burn outs on door floor in the bar area after bummping down the stone stair to get there.

Hehe on way to my first rally in Ohio, Wes and I saw people snapping up all the camera in gas stations, for hundreds of miles, telling us about the naked girls playing with the bulls at HD party. Wes and I had to pow pow hard not to do a side trip. So maybe its de-evolution for a Norton to blend with HD's but its sure tempting. So what to you call a HD derived upgrade...

The 1975 Norton motorcycle starter mgd 4111 can be swapped with a four brush starter from a 70's Harley Davidson Sportster, is this starter still available? Thanks, Jim.

Back to the main theme- MCN claims this week the bailout, which according to them isn't one, is to the tune of 7.5 million Pounds. A journalist friend called the relevant UK govt press office and they say the underwritten loan is 625 grand and 'absolutely not' £7.5m. They are very vague about how they check companies for creditworthiness- a valid point. Mr.Garners other companies Europlay Trading alias "Klever Kids" (Norton prams) and Fireworks International are in the hands of the receivers as of the 2nd this month.
