I'm not sure where I put my records yet but Maney cases are about 10 lb heavier, maybe 12, but his clylinderl is about 8 lb lighter than the Norton ones so about a wash if you get Al cylinder and some and then a 4-5 lb lighter crankshaft, especially the 920 or 1007 cc versions as bore walls are thinner and some case cut away. Toss in Jim's piston/rod/cam and lifters kits then upgrade to ITT gearbox to handle the power and can't hardly beat that combo with a $10,000 bill if they still issued those. But on top that worthwhile to spend another 5grand on processing these items with custom shaping and tempering and surface treatments and fastener-thread beefing. Don't foreget there's 175 hp capable EFI for extra kix too. That'd be a pretty good power unit, so on to the re$t of bike to bring it up out of Norton dark ages.
Best bang for the bux would be fix the cases and uise skilled tedium to fix any un-sealling distortion - slap on a Fullauto head with hot cam and Jim's carbies, then drill/cut or replace steel with Al where ya can and toss off the rest.
Of course lightest tubeless wheel conversion may give as good or better joy than all the above. Best put em all in one bike.
