Dare I remove the kickstart?

My Evinrude 150 hp outboard came with an emergency rope. Fortunately, I never had to try it.

Interesting never knew that and even worked in a Yamaha shop 1986 . Early Gold Wings had a permanently mounted kicker that went sideways to the bike .

My '83 R100 BMW has a kickstart which was an optional extra when new. I have never had to use it in earnest but have tried it for the novelty value. I have never managed to start the engine with it though.

The kickstart lever on my 73 750 would push into my calf and your foot was half on the footrest , i had a kickstart shaft leak and when i removed it the PO must have half buggered the spline , there was two choices ,cheap or Andover Norton ,on fitting the Andover lever i found it turns in further and doesn't push your leg out .
