Once again I am not privy to why Honda does not make chain saws but I will tell you that even 4 stroke weed eaters are becoming the norm as emissions regulations keep getting tighter and the market demands them. I will also say it again, a ring ding has it place and a chain saw is it, NOT a high production number's product such as motorcycles and automobiles.

an H2R is a far cry from a street H2 as was stuff like the monocock JPN racers were. as to your expert, I think you are dreaming that Honda had that much influence to have ding pops banned by most all first world governments as a street bike power plant. it also goes back to people's demands like cleaner running more fuel efficient,quieter running and less maintenance along with people demanding cleaner air to breath. Can you also give me the sales numbers for the H2 V CB 750 V Z1. I would say that the H2 was not as great a seller against the others. market also drives what they build!!!

Face it Bill, it is not your call, & repeating youself as a self proclaimed arbiter on the matter does not provide validity, on every actual point in contention you have been found wrong, whether you admit it or not...

Bill, [although I dont think it will register with you- but others might get it] in point of fact, Kawasaki was so embarrassed by the perceived loss of face when the Z1 lost that Superbike shootout to the H2, that they began detuning their triples & then phased them out [the fact that they could make much more on sales/servicing fees for the Z1 did have something to do with it], whereas Yamaha kept developing their 2Ts & still sell them now.
 
it is not my call nor is it your call as we are just one person spending our money but you are the one that refuses to to see that most products are market driven BUT must also meet government regulations be it emissions, fuel economy or safety. You have also not proven me wrong on these points either or to your ring ding being more than a nitch market power plant. Again where is the ding pop street bikes or automobiles?????

Once again suzuki WAS also a huge proponent of the 2 smoke but where did they go???? The same way as the dodo bird. was this also the fault of Honda??? I guess that I need my tin foil hat and watch out for the black helicopters.

don't need med's as a good Newcastle brown will suffice. there is also NO hype needed to see what sells and what don't and it looks like the ding pop lost out on the show room floor and regulations!!!!!

If your ring ding is everything that you claim than as they say "build it and they will come" :lol: are you willing to take the gamble as no other major manufacture is willing put there money in to your beliefs of the wonders of the 2 smoke.

How is the NEW Commando selling, then -Bill? Have you put a deposit down on one?
 
So we have resulted to name calling as you cannot dispute my stance as to the ring ding as a nitch market engine and will NEVER make it to main stream use. As to the husky ( if and when :lol: ) I like my old Norton and have no need for it as it does what i want it to.

Last time a Brit [Barry Sheene] won the Moto 1 title, [about 3, or 4 centuries ago] he was riding a Suzuki, now they cant even afford to race G.P.s - fat lazy slug 4Ts are too expensive..name calling like ding bat or whatever?, nah -just a description..

The economics of the world has put a hurting on a lot of manufacturers and unfortunately racing is not where the money is made so they made the decision to pull out of prototype racing and down scale the rest. You still have NEVER proven me wrong as to the viability of the ding pop ( description not name calling) as a major power plant or as to why Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha abandoned them or was it Honda's fault???

Since you dont actually read the posted evidence Bill, & you cant look for yourself, or wont accept the facts when they are in your face...why let facts cloud the issue?
 
It went the same way as the dodo bird. a 40's design and Norton like the rest of the british industry refused to see what was happening around them. The jap's, they would change in a hurry instead at a glacial pace hence the demise of your much beloved ding pop and like my old Norton. MARKET DRIVEN get it yet.

Vegas is a fools game, they did not build it by giving away money.

Again WHERE are the facts as you put it that a MAJOR manufacturer is using a ring ding in a street bike or automobile?????
