bike dies with lights - help

FYI - I got rid of the kill switch and the other extraneous switches years ago when I combined the handlebar switches into one switch containing only the high/low, turn signals and horn. I was very meticuous in making those changes, as well as when I installed the new generator and voltage regulator. All the electrics have worked perfectly for the last 5 years. Again, there is no indication that any wires have overheated and the fuse does not blow, and no loose wire connections. I think its the ignition switch so have ordered a new one. Will install it tomorrow and let you all know what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Drum roll please. Success! ! It turned out to be the ignition switch. Thanks again to everyone for all your thoughts. They really helped narrow the problem down. Much appreciated. Regards.
