Best Movies Ever

Strange, ..... only one person has mentioned Star Wars, and no one Harry Potter. Surely, these are among the top money makers of all time, and were made possible only with challenging special effects. I am not nominating either one .... just pointing out the anamolie.

It's as if this forum is populated almost entirely by old men!

What did you expect , our bikes are 50 years and getting older .... even my new Italian bikes are old now , both circa 2007 .... just can’t seem to catch up ....

Two of many that I can watch anytime I can find them:
Thunder Road with Robert Mitchum
Flight of The Phoenix, the original with Jimmy Stewart, not the CGI remake from 2004

Talking of remakes, here’s a question...

Has there EVER been a remake that’s actually better than the original ??

Daniel Day Lewis version of "The last of the mohicans" - They run everywhere, it gives the movie a frantic feel. The scene where chingachkook kills that evil bastard Magua on the waterfall is classic. Sort of a self righteous story, but I guess I like stories with some morality to the plot.

Oh, forgot Jaws. Scared the crap out of me when I was 10 and my uncle who had a Tangerine Combat took me to see it.
Ha - Jaws is dangerous alright. I took a girl to see it on our first date .
Been married to her for more than 40 years now.
Tops for me and not in any order -
The Graduate
Sophies Choice
Gosford Park
The Birds
Das Boote
Sixth Sense

Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry
The Losers (aka Nams Angels)
Vanishing Point
Deja Vu
The Lake House - but then I do have a thing for Sandra Bullock

Forgot all about that one, good one though, you're right about that! I had a friend who was an extra in it. He said that he was in a bar somewhere in Georgia I believe, when they were filming it and a production assistant was walking around the club handing out cards, offering a couple hundred bucks to guys with long hair who showed up early the next morning. Jeff said that after the bar closed, they went on over to one of his drinking buddies apartment and kept going until it was time to show up, then they all went there to cash in. You can barely see him as he is running across a field with everybody else in the scene. Funny when I think about it, 'cause he ain't got a strand left nowadays.
