Hope that lasts. But it probably won't. First thing I did when I came north was walk down the insect critter control isle at Kroger. The big bags of fire ant pellets weren't anywhere to be seen. And I breathed a big sigh of reliefe. When it's winter I say let it snow -- and freeze the ground solid as a rock. Well how else is Santa going to get here?
 
Just make sure to take in the "Three Sisters", "Twisted Sisters" or "Texas Trinity" - FM 335, 336 & 337, connected by TX 41 on the north end, and while you're at it, do 55 between Rocksprings & Camp Wood.

Summer is hot, the rest of the year is fantastic.

Check google maps from Leander to Marble Falls on 1431, that's 5 minutes from my house.
