There’s a few movies when they come on I have to watch. One is Outlaw Josey Wales, the other,
Probably my all time favorite. Top Gun.
You have Fighter planes, motorcycles, boats, drama, great music, underdog with attitude.
Just doesn’t get any better. Watching it right now. I imagine most of us relate to Maverick.
Commercial has a over, back to the show.

1: Lonesome Dove. My all time favoriest (sic).
2: Hud
3: Guns of Navarone
4: No Country for Old Men
5: Tie;
Champions Forever, aka The Quick and the Dead.

1. Lawrence of Arabia
2. Bridge Over the River Kwai (although both 1 & 2 take huge liberties with the truth)
3. Get Carter (the original)
4. Goodfellas
5. True Grit (the original, although the remake is good)

2001

Escapism is the name of the game, yes? (In no particular order and would change daily):
Man On Fire. (Don't f*ck with Denzil :) )
Team America. (Americans CAN do comedy, makes up for Dukes Of Hazzard/Sgt. Bilko et al)
Dam Busters. (Good early example of: 'Science The Sh*t Out Of It.. Will we see Vulcan 607 done?)
The Girl Can't Help It. (Marilyn.... say no more ;-))
Rush: (Petrol fumes AND a good story)
Die Hard 4:0. (Don't f*ck with Bruce, either..)
Sons Of Katie Elder. (Duke being Duke...)
The Girl Can't Help It. (Jayne Mansfield AND Little Richard..)
King Kong (Remake). (Peter Jackson's finest hour since 'Braindead')

Agree with lots of the ones mentioned above and would like to add

Tunes of glory - my favourite Alec Guinness movie even though I read somewhere it was his least favorite.

How green was my valley - wonderfully old fashion story and beautiful singing.

Spinal tap - One of my exes toured Europe with a small time band in the 70s and couldn't stop saying "oh God it was just like that"

Cyrano de Bergerac - The later one with Gerard Depardieu - most romantic movie ever.

Oh, forgot Jaws. Scared the crap out of me when I was 10 and my uncle who had a Tangerine Combat took me to see it.

What? No-one rated Gran Torino?
You guys just aren't serious!

I nearly said f##king gooks, but then thought the better of it!

Didn't he spoil that one by trying to sing over the end credits? As much as I like it my vote for Mr Eastwood's finest hours goes to Million Dollar Baby...
