Batting 1000 / Center stand woes

Yeah, Florida. Uh-huh.

Try starting it without a centerstand after it's been sitting in a 38 degree garage all night.
I smugly tried this yesterday morning with 4 guys watching impatiently. I had been bragging about how easily my 850 started (warning, karma ahead).
It hadn't been run a several weeks and undoubtedly wet-sumped a bit too. I run 20W50 so it shouldn't be a problem right?
Even on the centerstand it just gave me the finger (bitch). My 150 lb buddy couldn't even kick it through.
So I hopped on my trusty V Strom instead (Yay!) and had a wonderful push-button started, fuel injected, liquid cooled, fall ride. Screw-you bitch!

Later in the day with nobody watching, after it warmed-up to a balmy 65 degrees, the thing fired easily on the 2nd kick. I took it on a long lovely ride in the country
through the autumn colors and forgave it for being a rude prick. Go figure.
