I said a few posts ago that I was starting to like the black and polished engine finish.

But I’m cured now. Def back to saying raw alloy is best!

Also… is it only me who’s REALLY tired of seeing bright freakin’ gold freakin’ forks every freakin’ where ?!?

Raw alloy engine with blacked out chassis components and forks. Def the way to go. But then again, s’wot I did with mine last time !

Trouble is, that’d be a heck of a lot of work to replicate with a new ‘un…

All kinds of interesting going on at the front end of Stu’s Dommie, that I had’nt noticed before (Pic by Paul FB). Would that front end be quite low or am I missing something.

Cheers, and yeah mega low. I took inspiration from the original cafe racers of the 60s, a time when back pain didn't exist. I couldn't go as extreme as those guys though, as the top yoke is already pretty low down and the headlamp brackets got in the way.

No, not just you. But I've detested anything gold anonodised for over 20 years. Nothing says "Tat" more.
...but I hate anything made from glorified fibreglass (carbon fibre) too.
Well we agree re the gold tat but will have to agree to disagree re ‘appropriate’ use of CF !
 
Casting aspersions on the genuinely glorious golden forks (especially on the black/gold 961) is verging on heresy!:eek: Personally, I think your VIP status should be revoked immediately!!

But criticising carbon components is another thing entirely!! Sorry, I can’t even respond ……………………... I’m just too distraught…….. sniff!🫣

This in my opinion is by far the best looking color combo. Love the black forks, black bits and raw engine. Wish mine was like this.

Yep, that’s a sweet lookin bike - just needs some gold forks to finish it off! They must have forgotten to coat those! I’d have lodged a complaint! 👀

I have the black Ohlins on my Domi and the gold on my commando. I prefer the black.
Black looks more classic and classy.
 
Worth a chuckle - I especially like the rather random bonus point for a fairing! Ironic as I’m trying to fit one currently, but of course the original cafe racers did’nt have fairings - it was everything paired back as far as possible. If it was’nt essential for running it was gone!
