2021 meet up?

As well as September meet there is another one on 13th July from the NORTON 961 Facebook group , it’s on a Tuesday bike night at “ Caffiene & Machine “ near Stratford CV37 7NS , I’m not on Facebook but have peeped via the wife’s, however I will be going , I’m sure there are a bunch of owners out there that have no idea about Access Norton, so I shall spread the word on the night , it’s a 370 mile round trip for me , can catch up with any other 961 on the way there or back , riding up from https://caffeineandmachine.com/

I've just read the FB post where there is a link to book and pay a tenner. Now a tenner is not a lot...but to pay. To turn up at a pub. On a regular bike night? hmmmm

Think that’s just first few weeks ? Because of coming out of lockdown, & need to limit numbers with tickets , however didn’t realise a charge , £10 a bit of a touch , looks a trendy boutique type place

I think they started charging a few years ago as the place used to fill up but no one went in. It's local (ish) to me. The only time I've been the car parks were rammed full, dickheads and posers mainly.

Bahhh - I can't stand these poseurs says me on my custom silver 961 with my Lewis boots, Goldtop jacket and gauntlets, custom Union Jack Davida helmet and goggles....

It's just down the road from me too and some friends have recommended it so might put in an appearance......

I was thinking more of the car guys who boot it leaving the car park and end up losing the back end and kerbing alloys.....entertaining at first maybe. A few others fly off and turn round to see how fast they can go past the entrance. I don't know if they think that we think..."Wow, he's cool!" Most comments I heard was, "Prick".

Nowt wrong with Davidas, Goldtops or Lewis Leathers....

In the same vein - with the wisdom of years I look back to when we were young and offered girls a lift on the bike (only up the road and not too fast please!) with the deluded idea that the best way to impress them and get into their 'affections' was to scare the cr*p out of them by riding like a total loon.......

No longer feeling the need to impress others with cretinous behaviour is one of the rare benefits of age.....

That is SO true. I once took a girlfriend to Matlock Bath, around a 15 miles ride. I tried hard to impress her as you mention. I was so successful that she found someone else to give her a lift home in a car. She refused to go home with me, or get on my bike ever again!

Strangely, she didn’t think that effected our relationship. She said “it’s ok, we can go to Matlock Bath next week in my car”.

”errrr, no” says I. “I’m going on t’ bike luv. If you wanna ride you can, if you don’t you don’t”.

That was the end of that blossoming romance.

Bike was faster solo anyway...

The best and cheapest way to improve the performance of any motorbike is to saw the seat in half and throw away the back part............................FACT

getting back to the meet up, what time are people suggesting, as there are considerable return journeys for some?

Just checked the C&M FB page and ticketing doesn’t apply on a Tuesday evening.

I was told by a regular that the fee is refunded against drinks bought?? Needs verification.
I think at is the case..or something like that. End of the day, I want to attend, so I paid up and will take money of drink if that is the deal.

You might want to 'up' your insurance cover if you're taking the 'merchandise' home afterwards??
