SEPTEMBER looks the most likely time we can get few of us together ,so no date set as we just need to throw dates in the net , Sunday 16th is a two stroke meet for example ,Fs1e,s , RD,s ,KH,s etc , but I can do any weekend from sat15th,https://london.acecafe.com/ , and there has been at least one 961 there b4, but can’t say I’ve ever seen this one . Ace Cafe is on the A406 North Circular NW10 7UD post code ,click on these links & browse the pictures,always something going on there & has been for decades,& as u can see “ we love all things American” , so please throw some dates in & then we can compromise the day, I’m bailing on the 1st/2nd sept bash at donnington Hall,but aiming for a bar b q eve .
 
I'm still on the fence, the thought of 2 1/2 hours alone on the A1 unless Welsh or Rog want some company ;)
 
After ordering the bike, I had intended to get down this venue, part of cafe racing history. Not quite sure on my dates yet, lot going on with 4 kids, ferrying to uni etc but could be up for it. I had earmarked the DGR ride on 30th September some time ago and also a Norton BBQ. Time is creeping up on me.

If I went, I think I would try and stay the night, which is the same for the Norton night.

So just bringing this one back to the fore, 3 weeks today at his “ ACE CAFE” for a 961 meet, SUNDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER,& here’s a reminder of what fun we had b4 at the 3 previous gathering s, who’s in ? , arriving mid morning for breakfast myself

Would love to go but it may be a step too far on the CR. My ageing and crippled body starts to complain at the 60 mile marker and pretty much packs up at 80 miles. The 961 wasn't exactly built with me in mind hehehe

I could always bring the Thrux down ;)

It’ll fit well with the nostalgia theme and be just like the good old days...

A bunch of oily Norton riders kicking the tyres of some new oriental:

“Look at it... not a proper bike... Ha! not even got a kick start... not a real engine; doesn’t even rattle... way too fast... no oil leaks; bet they forgot to put oil in it ha, ha... way too reliable, real bikers want to tinker... never catch on... made out of old plastic and coke cans you know... bloody Thai crap...”
 
.... and the Triumph owner smiles as the Norton lads pull into the gas station knowing that he still has 20+ miles left in the tank.... stupid Norton tank, all skirt and no knickers lol
