Soon to be new to me 61 G2cs.

Well I stripped the G2 gearbox. Thanks to a great how to from the AJSMOC archives I know how it goes back together and what to look for.
I had picked up some solvent to soak the gearbox in to free up things after it had been sitting since at least 1967. Whatever was in the solvent it turned the alloy black. I had heard about this happening when using Simply Green, not sure why and how to clean it off. A wire wheel doesn't do a bit of good.

I got some parts from Lyndon, the AJSM North American section parts guy. Other items are coming from Walridge Motors.
Progress being slowly made.

I am familiar with Electra's having had 3 over the years. Haven't had one in 30 years.
The thing about G2cs models is that they are stripped down models with no lights from the factory.
What I need to find are the engine and transmission sprockets and the spacer that goes behind the transmission sprocket just like on other AMC transmissions only smaller.
Lyndon had the sprockets and primary chain. Slowly getting there.

I managed to score a NOS G2CS duplex engine sprocket off a stateside seller on eBay. Sellers don't know what they are for and you can make a bargain. The clutch wheel/housing is a greater challenge because of rarity and wear. You may utilize the AJS Stormer clutch which is a duplex unit. Norman White makes or used to make clutch hubs for various mainshafts. Verify chain pitch first.

Is there clutch commonality between G2CS / G5 and the small twins (Navigator & Electra) ? These bikes used a duplex chain. I believe the transmission is the same? My guts tell me that AMC employed the small twin's primary drive. Check the part numbers.

Clutches are the same I used my electra spares to build up a decent clutch recently for my G2CSR although the number of plates vary as the lighweight singles had a duplex chain and an extra plate for the CSR and 350 so clutch baskets may be deeper . As all the bikes and parts I have are duplex I cant say that the splines/shafts will be the same .
The G2CSR gearbox is the same as a Jubilee and Navigator not same as Electra.
