On my engine case where the oil junction block attaches, there is a stud. If I’m not mistaken, that should be a bolt. Is there anything bad that could happen if I just added a lock washer and nut, or should I take out the vise grips and remove the stud?

The engine now is a bare case.

Thanks

I have the oil junction block but I can’t seem to find the bolt that holds it on. It’s a strange bolt where it has a wide shank and smaller threads.

My problem is I can’t find it anywhere. Andover Norton, Brit Bikes or eBay. I’m not sure if it’s a strange bolt or a regular bolt or stud and some sort of sleeve.

You can see how large the mounting hole is and the thread are closer to 3/8. Any suggestions where I can buy one?

This is the bolt. Again, not sure if it’s a bolt or a bolt with a sleeve. It could be a sleeve. Still have to find one.

The plot thickens. It looks like the bolt itself has a sleeve that attaches to a stud. And again, where can I get that odd bolt and stud.

Studs are better - less wear on the cases when removing & fitting.
My 650ss and Model 50 (now ES2) both have studs.

You’re probably right. What did you use to fill the space between the threaded stud and the large hole for the bolt on the junction?

If you look at the photo in my post #9 above, the nut has a machined projection that fills the space.
