Atlas Oil Junction Block Bolt Torque

Anyone have torque value for the 5/16 W bolt/nut that holds the oil junction block on to the crankcase? The bolt has a hollow extension (I know "bolt" is probably technically incorrect) and threads on to a stud in the crankcase. I am at 10 ft lbs and still weeping oil. Don't really want to strip the stud on the crankcase so some guidance would be appreciated. Picture of the bolt and junction block below.

I've seen that. No reason to question them, but that does seem like very little - and mine weeps at that torque with a new gasket and clean surfaces. It's kind of a big bolt and big stud for 8 ft/lbs. On the other hand too much could be a bad bad thing. Wonder if my bolt is bottoming out . . ?

You’re right on 8 sounding light. Can’t say I’ve had any issues going with “snug” for whatever that means. Is the new gasket thinner or of a different material? Maybe make your own slightly thicker?

I have gone to JS Eng fiberglass reinforced silicone on that gasket. I never bothered to torque it up, ..... just "feel" has always been enough.
