Hello All,

I may have mentioned once or twice , I've been steadily working through my oil leaks. But I was still finding a small puddle under the bike. I think I've finally tracked it down. I have found a small fracture in the oil pipe junction block that's screwed into the engine case. It's just above the point the two pipes come out of the casting. It looks to be the oil tank supply side. It's not clearly visible, but I've ruled out leaks above and below this point. I replaced the gasket today and then realised it wasn't leaking from behind, but from this point in the casting.

Unfortunately, it is not in stock at AN and a Google search is revealing nothing. I have emailed AN to see if it is likely to be available soon. Does anyone know of an alternative source? Is there a way to fix it, something like JB Weld or some clever suggestion?

I don't fancy it properly cracking open while I'm riding, so I think I will have to keep the bike off the road until I fix it.

Thanks, Martin

Also out of stock.

Edit: Sorry, posted before seeing LAB's reply.

I couldn't find that. Possibly because they don't use the full stop after 06 in the part no.?

Yes, if you search outside AN then you either have to remove the full stop or replace it with a dash/hyphen.

It is possible that the pipe just needs to be resoldered back into the union. I had the problem years ago, took ages to find the leak, but 5 minutes cleaning the block and a bit of silver solder and it was cured

Just bought one.
Not cheap but by far the better option IMO.
Got my doubts as to whether the stock type oil pipes will reach though.
Well, 30 quid more than a new stock one… that’s not even available!

30 quid to get your bike on the road and be confident you’ve removed a potential failure mode seems like good value IMHO.

Be careful putting it back on. This is how I found mine after 25 years of owning the bike, it might have come from the factory like this.

TBH didn't even consider the stock one, just didn't like it, so for me worth it.

Same here. I know the stock one is ok the vast majority of the time, but nevertheless, the long tubes are susceptible to vibration, consequently, where they join the block is susceptible to fatigue.

So once I’d thought that, it was obvious to me that despite the fact most don’t… mine would fail…!

Replacement arrived from Norvil today, gasket from AN. The gasket was like @gortnipper's. The holes don't quite match up. Slightly opened up the feed hole in the gasket and hopefully it stayed where it should on assembly. Test ride was oil drip free!
