The red was driving me crazy.

I put a quick coat of silver over the red to give me an idea of what it looks like.

The red had to go.

I don’t think the silver looks right with the chrome of the Z plates, fenders and wheels, IMO the burgundy red #173 has the look(so far)

I appreciate your opinion. I’m not crazy about it either.

I’m actually considering going back to yellow as that was the original color.

Can never go wrong old school!

I really like blue but I’m not qualified to choose a color that would look great.

I bought a can of yellow today and I’m going to paint all three pieces. You can’t go wrong going original. If it was good enough for Norton, it’s good enough for me!

Just looking at that brings back memories. At 35 after 100 miles on the old XLCR with similar set up I couldn't walk for 1/2 hr. and feared I'd piss blood kidneys hurt so bad.... Can only try not to imagine what that position could do now at 67..... Looks good though on style though. Anyway I'm getting envious looking at your makings. Keep up the good work and make me green.
Me too after riding a JPN and the reason I sold it in 2003. I was 50 then.

Re colour; Why not go to Google images on the c/o copy and paste the images and stick them all up on the wall until you decide on which colour u want? That way it costs u nothing and u would not have made an expensive mistake.

Steve,
Saw this on fleabay, not quite a Gus Khun but similar and gives you an idea of the yellow. As Bernhard says, easy copy and paste so you can decide choices, choices....

I sort of do the same thing on my iPad. I’ve copied a lot of pictures of different colors and I keep going back to yellow. It was the Norton PR color and everything else doesn’t seem to look quite as good.

Thanks, Gus Kuhn had many colors, I think my tank was originally blue flake. But I believe that Gus Kuhn had yellow also but was more experimental with colors. I’ve seen green, red, blue and yellow.
