Or because the stock chrome ones pitted out.
Oh phew...I knew I read that mine were fine for Avon’s. You had me worried...I'm kidding, just fit 100/90/19's front and rear as 10's of thousands of folk have done with no problems.
If you do a search on the subject you will be knee deep in BS before the first page is read so best avoided.
I went to wider alloy rims but @ $1200 the return on investment is debatable but most folk only do it for looks anyway.

Thanks Rick!!Hi Steve - looks good - you must be excited !
Forgive me if I am repeating myself-can’t remember which thread the subject of tires came up . I know you are anxious to see rubber on it and I can’t blame you but if you have another couple years on your project the tires will be considerably into their age life by the time you are done . And yes, I realize they are indoors and out of the UV light but why rush ? Lots of other things to spend your time and money on.
You might want to triangulate the strut you put in for the gearbox cradle with another to the bottom rear engine mount .
Keep at it !
Thanks TW,I am sure some will disagree but keep up the good work.
You have done more in the past week than I have done in months.
That’s what I was thinking. It’s nowhere near a show bike. It’s going to be a fun rider. Is your aim to have a show bike? If so, take it apart and do it now. If you just want a cool bike to ride, leave it how it is.
If you think its going to eat at you, do it.
You've still got a long way to go and a lot of money to spend. Dropping the cash on this is going to feel like a distant memory soon enough.....
Haha, yes. I second guess myself all the time.I think you made a wise call the first time on your frame. Then not my bike or project either.... You're going to rapidly be approaching a point where second guessing yourself may cause palm hair or worse.
Thanks Rick. It’s trial and error for sure.I like the silver tank
Right now I’m thinking clubman, but I’m not sure. If the fairing looks good, I may go clip-ons.What about bars ? Clip Ons ? Clubmans ?
