The head steady spring would normally be fitted the other way around. :)

You really should consider doing the Kegler mod before you add any more to the frame. Many have done it, and there are several vendors of the ready clamps or you can do it yourself.

A worthy upgrade.

I was considering that, but decided that the amount I’ll be riding this I’m ok. It’s a budget build and if I’m going to add any sort of modern technology, my first upgrade will be a Dave Taylor headsteady.

That's coming right nicely and should prove to be a very good bike when done.... I'd love to redline it for you seeing as how I no longer push mine past 5k.... It's sort of semi retired from the rough side of life having earned some respect early on.

Gas tank came today. I’m pretty stoked. I’m building a replica Gus Kuhn and I’m finding some nice parts.

When the tank is attached, it starts to look like a motorcycle. I found a seat pan and front PR fender also, still working on getting them.

I’ll keep the chrome fender in case I decide to go back to a standard configuration.

I’m not sure this is what I meant by working towards a roller, but it’s too big to keep on the bench.

Tail light came today, thanks Rick, and the washer I needed for the rear wheel.

I think I need tires. Haha

Just looking at that brings back memories. At 35 after 100 miles on the old XLCR with similar set up I couldn't walk for 1/2 hr. and feared I'd piss blood kidneys hurt so bad.... Can only try not to imagine what that position could do now at 67..... Looks good though on style though. Anyway I'm getting envious looking at your makings. Keep up the good work and make me green.

Thanks so much. I’m not planning any long rides on this bike. I’m building it for the love of the design and to take shorts runs.

I have a new Ducati for long rides, it’s very comfortable.

Added a little piece of mind. Not sure if it’s the actual correct length, but it makes me feel better.

I think tomorrow I’ll paint that air box mesh. I just got it yesterday and it looked ok, but now seeing it mounted, it needs to be painted.

Today is the first day I’ve actually taken the engine cases out and put them on the bench.

I’m not done with the chassis yet, have lots of parts coming, but I’m getting very close.

You GOTTA get some tires. Those bare rims are giving me anxiety!
Haha, your right, I’ve been so focused on getting parts.

I have a seat pan, front PR fender, headlight and directional signals and a bunch of small parts on their way!

What ever you do, do not try and fit Avon's to those skinny rims, you won't make it around the first corner.

I'm kidding, just fit 100/90/19's front and rear as 10's of thousands of folk have done with no problems.
If you do a search on the subject you will be knee deep in BS before the first page is read so best avoided.
I went to wider alloy rims but @ $1200 the return on investment is debatable but most folk only do it for looks anyway.
