First post and very much a rookie.

My '75 Commando 850 is pretty much all original. Driving home the other day, I noticed excessive play in the throttle. Upon inspection...the Lucas starter/kill switch assembly where the throttle cable enters housing has corroded and the aluminum casting is falling apart. I have been searching for days, but I cannot find a replacement casting/housing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Sparx makes a replacement. Any JRC reseller will have them available.

Just watch out. Triumph uses the same switch. The kill lever is a little different.
Norton is OFF-RUN-OFF
Triumph is OFF-RUN

And they have the same part number.

PM sent.

Here is my case. Notice the area where it is broken. It is just enough that the throttle cable isn't sitting right and is drawn into the case with a twist of the wrist.

Deets...your stuff is so clean! I feel like a turd with my old janky looking stuff.

Damn, just when I thought I had run out of things to spend on. The Kill switch internals were corroded to the point of un useable.

Thanks Peter
