Totally unrelated to bikes!

You may have seen "Initiative Q" popping up here and there on Facebook and in social media, I ignored it at first, but saw it a few times, so looked in to it.

The other day, while I was having my morning coffee, I had a read and actually this stuff looks quite interesting, I honestly wonder if it does have the potential to be the next big thing like Bitcoin was.

At first I thought it was a stupid pyramid scheme, but when I spent some time understanding what it's all about, then saw who was behind it all I figured I may as well sign up here.
It's also been validated by some money saving experts, and they verified that it is genuine and not a hoax.

Here is one of the discussions, this one on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a project being run by some of the guys that worked for PayPal, and currently they are giving some away in exchange for signing up and showing an interest in what they are doing.

I am usually quite skeptical about this sort of thing (I was with Bitcoin) but having spent some time this morning reading through their website, I really can't see any harm in leaving my name and email address.

At least if it does make it big this time, I won't miss the boat like I did with Bitcoin!

Go and have a look, and leave your name and email address - I really can't see that any of us have got anything to lose with this!

I guess you could lose your identity , online at least ..... in past we have had folks at door collecting for “charity” .... I say okay I will give $10 , they say no, no , please just give us your e-mail , phone and name .... at that point I whistle for our dog ..... trying to take advantage of old folks ... never been on Facebook etc. for same reason .... we have had our CC ‘s compromised several times and our PayPal once .... call me paranoid ! Also last year had my Infinity G35 listed, get a call offering more than my ask but wanted my bank info to place deposit .... dah

I still don’t really know what bitcoin is...

It seems to me to be a way for private enterprise to print money in cyberspace with no governmental overview.
Then people bid and ask prices in speculation of more and more money being "invested" in bitcoin. Truly a
Ponzi scheme. How about when Bitcoin was "trading" for over $20,000 USA a few months back. Now valued
at $6500+. I would guess some "investors" lost a pant load of money. Seems like the folks interested in this form
on money are mostly interested in their local taxing agency not having knowledge of their financial affairs.
Just a thought, not a political statement.

When I've completed sales, I never have qualms transmitting my bank information. They can't get into your account with routing and account number, without your personal info and password (my password is quite cryptic and has nothing to do with anything). It's always required for wire transfers. 20+ years, zero issues.

that is good to know GrandPaul .... however going to stick with my old fashioned ways ....

@grandpaul - exactly! The worse they can do is put money IN to your account!

...not sure if any of us would mind that!!! LOL
