i am about to pull the trigger on a 2015 sport
$8500

14k miles, sbn pipes, extended 2 yr warranty

am I nuts if i do not buy it?

Wasn't it you that missed a good buy earlier this year or last ? I think the bike Lcrken bought. Werent you looking at that Bike when Ken bought it ? Better not wait too long.

Spoiled American can't wait to get rid of it and get some of his money back . I should get another one at those prices .

I agree. norton is now excluding my dad to work on bikes and telling people who live in Ontario to go two provinces over (2 days drive) to people with less experience working on the bikes as in depth as us. Thanks Simon for screwing over your customer base.

Is your dad an official dealer?

Gawd.
Norton might become a verb.

As in " Things were going alright with the business and then my partner Nortoned me!"

Marvelous!
Another brilliant stroke by the Factory.

I suppose they are thinking about their new customers who will be buying $40,000 v4's.
Those folks will be financially able to transporter ship their new 1200's to any Norton dealer anywhere in North America.
So no need for more than 1 or 2 dealers per continent.

Depends who you ask at Norton. but he has paperwork that sais so.

From a liability standpoint if you have "authorized" fixes it means you screwed up in the first place. Then you start running into lemon laws, NHTSA and lawyers. All things you want to avoid. I know he just wants to help but sometimes it's more complicated than that.

Looks like not a dealer now. As per website. I guess we never got the letter. I know that suzuki Newmarket is not a dealer. CLick their website. Directs back to norton uk. And Norton motorcycle Canada is no longer. Looks like they hate us so much they took the time to take our name and phone number off their site but leave the others names and only remove contact info to look like there actually is support in Canada. Oh well..... as long as Norton is happy and they keep making bikes and parts. Its for the better we’re no longer dealing with their headaches that Simon says we cause. We truly wish Norton all the best. Once dialed in, a 961 is an incredible machine.

I should probably remove my account on AN too.

I would recommend reaching out to the dealers directly and offering your services. The bikes will start dropping out of warranty and the dealers may not want to mess with them.

But I wouldn't necessarily blame Norton, they may have forces outside their control.

Thanks guys. I’m so angry ive not been riding the bike anymore. Only with Tony when he came down. My bike runs excellent. Just hate the feeling when people ask and I bite my tongue not to say anything negative when they ask if they are well made and how’s the warranty?

Hi Richard,

I can’t even imagine how you and Dave must be feeling. Here’s how I see it personally. If something goes wrong with my ‘74 Commando, I deal with it myself. There has been no dealer for it in my lifetime. Could I take it on a long trip. Probably. Do I? No. I use it for Sunday rides, a quick blast, or to a show. I have other bikes that are better equipped for longer trips. If something was to go wrong with the 961, I will deal with it myself with the help of the guys on this forum. Could I take it on a long trip? Probably. Have I? No. I treat it like my ‘74. So why do I have it? Because ever since I saw pictures of a Kenny Dreer 880 I have wanted one. The 961 is the coolest bike I have ever seen. It oozes character. When I walk into a showroom of new motorcycles of any other brand, there are none that capture my attention like my 961. Not even close.
