What speed were you doing?I'm pissed off ! Just got my second speeding ticket today, a day after getting the last. And another one a few weeks ago. That's not what Mikuni 34s are supposed to be about. Do you twin Anal boys really think that an extra couple of horsepower makes your Commando the duck's guts? Really? You sound like a pack of whining Jap bike riders. Oh, I've only got 190 horsepower. I need more! My Commando had it's VM34 on it when I bought it 12 years and 65,000 miles ago. It starts well, with a half hearted kick, idles beautifully and doesn't lack power anywhere I care about. I get 65 mpg, which isn't about being frugal with my cash, but about fuel range, which is about 160 miles from my Roadster tank. As I've said before, this is about the life of three sets of Anals with a rebuild each! Apart from jetting changes, I've spent less time on my Mikuni than some of you blokes spend on yapping about the problems with your Anals.
Yeah, yeah. But the new Premiers have fixed that. After 50 years, so they effing well should have! Recently, somebody said that Anals are really good, if you clean out the pilots every month or so. And he was serious! Unlike a lot of keyboard Command heroes, I actually ride my Commando most days, year round in all weather, in all, an average of 1000 miles a month. I really enjoy the power available with my Mikuni and the fuel range it gives me.
A quite famous motorcycling identity was heard at Philip Island a few years ago saying " One brake horsepower in the mid-range is worth three at the top end". And, he was talking race bikes. Even more so on a road bike. I'll take the one in the mid-range thanks.
What speed were you doing?
153 mph. I was trying yo get one up on Hobot.

Joking aside how fast were you going?153 mph. I was trying yo get one up on Hobot.
Same in the Uk you don't see many police cars but plenty of cameras though,Luckily, I usually scrape in just under 10kmh over which means no demerit points and a hundred dollar fine, but, I'm racking them up in short order. The downside of a very torquey motor and 22 tooth gearing is that you assume that you're not going that quickly.
As for the method they use, Multanova units hidden in innocuous vehicles on the side of the road. You see police on the roads here VERY rarely.

If you don’t want the fine- don’t do the crime!

Those School Zones are tricky. Usually one ticket is enough to restart the learning process tho!

Funny enough I once had a mk2a that I fitted a modified atlas inlet manifold with a single 32mm concentric with a pancake air filter fitted I remember it did exactly 65mpgThat may have something to do with the 65mpg figure, also.

Side note- why do we still do fuel economy in Imperial gallons? Nothing has been sold in Imperial gallons anywhere in the world for decades, but we still like to compute fuel economy using Imperial gallons.
I guess it gives a feel good number, like Dynojet HP.
I say let's bring back the British Ale Gallon, it's even bigger and there could be Ale involved!
