We made through the cold snap - -25 now and warming over the next couple of days to more normals of -15 to -25. Years ago when working on the Alaska Highway near the Alaska border, it was -50C for two weeks straight, we worked 12 hour shifts, around the clock - I was a surveyor, so outside for most of the day, and helping wherever needed so we could get done and home for Christmas. A couple days ago, the town of Watson Lake, Yukon, at mile 600 of the Alaska Highway was the coldest spot on the planet, with a temperature of -47! Here is a photo I captured on Solstice:
