where is this going?

I recall they were layering together around the battery tray and the oil tank, but I am not very sure..
I also looked in the Norton Parts book, but to no avail..
can you help me to remember where this brackets should be going on a Norton Commando 750?
perhaps a picture or even a drawing could help.. Thank you!

Ha, the infamous horn brackets. They mount off the tab at the bottom of the battery tray at the rear. You probably don't have the central oil tank, but it's the same.

and yes, I don't have the central oil tank, but I recall they should go around there..

I lost one, so one is enough for me.

The right bolt/nut should extend into the mudguard too, with some spacers or nuts as spacers.

As Lorenzo's Commando is a 1973 model, both horn bracket bolts [48] should extend rearwards through slots in the mudguard. The horn brackets (x2) having first been secured to the battery tray by two nuts [49] (with washers [45]).

Note that the horn and bolting arrangement have been drawn facing the opposite way with regard to the frame in the diagram. Bolts go at the front, nuts to the rear.

The mudguard is secured by the two self locking nuts [10] and washers [6].
