Hi folks. First post so hope this is the right place. My 74 roadster has a stainless steel front fender that needs some welding ( holes filled) Anyway my question is what type of ss filer rod do I need to use to be compatible with the parent metal. That. Is the fender.
Thanks for any thoughts
Gord

Use a 316L filler - you'll be able to polish it up to a decent shine, and should be almost indistinguishable from the rest of the fender.

Find another fender, is what I'd do, even given the skillset on board (ASME section III & VIII certified GTAW (aka "TIG"), FAA certified GTAW). Just sayin. JMWO

Yep use a 316 filler rod and polish it out but leave the weld underneath for strength I did mine 15 years ago no problem since cheers

Thanks for the advice on using 316L filler rod. Sorry about the tardy response. I didn't have my setting right so never got the replies til I looked here
