The earth lead has dropped off my warning light assimilator (WLA) due to old age, only been there 34 years !
So I bought a relacement. The old one is a nice shade of metallic blue, but the new one is black, which is a shame, but looks more robust.
The old blue WLA has a U-shaped double terminal that connects, according to the wiring diagram, with a green/yellow wire to the alternator
and a white/brown wire to the warning light in the headlamp. So the GY and WB wires are joined by the U-shaped terminal.
However, the new black WLA has three terminals marked E (earth), WL for warning light (?) and AL for alternator (?). Is this correct ?
Presumably the WL and AL terminals are now joined inside the WLA setting compound ? Rather than externally?
