Trump seems to be doing well so far...

Actually he was elected by the gerrymandered Electoral College and Hilary Clinton garnered more votes, so don’t blame Trump on the American population. As the recent Mid-Term elections have shown, if people get off their lazy asses and go vote, results are somewhat different. I blame Trump on those who stayed home rather than voting in the last Presidential election.
Often thought all countries should adopt the danish model - if you don’t vote you are fined or imprisoned for 5 days (repeat offenders)
It looks like DJT will get a second term - not sure if that is good or bad for USA - good as it might lead to a sensible choice for many years after (we can’t let that happen again!) bad -as it could be taken as a reflection of the psyche of the American people.
Like the U.K., the leader was elected on a minority of the eligible vote- as you say “if you don’t vote, don’t complain”

That's all very well, but what if you are like me and dislike them all to a lesser or greater degree?
If you have any integrity in politics sooner or later you are removed, a la Robin Cook, Frank Field etc.
They are a bunch of self serving idiots for the most part, who couldn't run a piss up in a brewery.

Sam,
I don’t disagree with any of those sentiments - even if you dislike all of them you can exercise that right through a spoiled vote if you are actually compelled to vote. In the US there is always a space for voters to add a name to the ballot paper -allowing you to vote for YOUR candidate, they probably won’t be elected but you have given your choice.
It is a pity that the UK govt don’t follow the rules imposed on unions - 50% of the membership has to agree for action -that might put the wind up them -they don’t like it up ‘em!

It's a fairly common problem everywhere. You don't have a "best" candidate, so you end up voting for the "least bad" one. I agree with the "none of the above" idea also, but it could significantly hold things up. If the rule was also imposed that any of those on the ballot that was rejected by "none of the above" were banned from the re-run, it might work.

Cumulative voting - allows you to rank order your vote. If there are 5 candidates, then you get 5 votes and can throw all 5 votes at one or 1 vote at each or 3 at one and 2 at another. Then, the winner is the candidate with the most votes. Favors minorities and takes power away from parties. No more 49/51 winner takes all but something like xx/xx/xx/x/x. Cumulative voting most commonly is used for boards of directors for non-profits, corporations, home owner associations, etc.

When your personal lawyer gets 4 years in the slam for paying off porn stars on your behalf, can it be long before the other shoe falls?

Trump is meeting with Congressional Democrats and I hope they offer to co-opt the hell out of him as an alternative to impeachment. Results would be better than kicking him to the curb and having that tight-ass Mike Pence in charge.

Here in Aussie land its compustry to vote once you are 18 and over, so really if you don't vote you have no say at all, every vote counts.

Here we have 2 major parties Labour or Liberals/National party as well a few minor parties and of course independents, so we have a choose who we vote for, in the last few elections we have had people are so over the rulings of the major parties and a lot of independents got voted in, this helps to keep who ever wins honest, but it also can cause kaos.
Most politians and major parties only think of themself or the party ways, they don't really care about the people but when they go to far people don't forget and they usualy get voted out but sometimes the damage has been done and our great country slides down even further or put in so much det which we will never get out of or cost people their jobs.

I don't like politics or politicians they lie and make promises that they have no attention of keeping as well they blame the other side for all wrong doings even if they have been in power for so long, as most be awere we have gone through 6 Prime ministers in the last 10 years and of course the people who voted them in has no say in it, the people of Australia have had enough and its time for a change, we will get our say very soon in the new year but has to be called before May next year.

I hate voting but it only takes 30 minutes out of your life, you might not like whats on offer but you do have your say in the long run, a few of my mates have never voted in their whole life but complain when things go wrong, my vote might not count or make no differents but one thing I did is vote for who I will think will do better for me and my kids.
As for me I don't give a rats what other countries do or who they vote in power, I only care what happens here or whats best for my country and so far we are going down the cube and the worst thing we seem to follow the USA in every conflick that the US is involved in and our poltitions are so far up the US arse its not funny.

Don't get me wrong I have a lot of American friends here and on other sites but sometimes we need to go our own way without upseting the US and a lot of times we follow the US and the cost to our country blows out even more.

As for Trump he is no fool he might act the fool in what he says or look stupid at times but he is a bit smarter than that, I don't like the person myself but you voted him in, the people wanted a change from what they had, but then a lot of countries have fools running their countries, you don't have to be smart to get voted in and we have had our share of bad politisions its just getting more of a joke than doing the right thing for the people who voted them in.

Well thats my say and opinion so don't get upset if you think I am wrong in saying so, you just got to open your eyes to see what is happening around the world, look at whats happening in Britain or in France the people can only take so much and making people pay more for basic things and the cost of living is going sky high, unable to afford housing, food, education etc etc the list goes on and on and something has to break sooner than later before its to late.

I heard The Wall is going to have a service entrance for all of Trump's undocumented employees.

Ashman "I don't like politics or politicians they lie and make promises that they have no attention of keeping"

How do you know if a politician is lying?

His lips are moving!
