Well . . . . what do YOU propose to do?
Who is going to pay? How much? By when?

    Specifically.

No more evasion, put up or shut up.

A slur is not an argument.

    Boys, boys - play nice!
World renowned experts cannot come to a consensus so we amateurs have little chance of doing so. The government in the U.K. have promised a carbon free emissions environment by 2030 without considering that the total ban on carbon based fossil fuels will totally destroy the world’s economy. This is not simple - carbon fuels are evil/climate change is a hoax - are just the two extremes - the reality, as always, is somewhere in the middle.
We ain’t gonna solve this in our lifetime!

There is nothing not "nice" in what I said, just calling out the slur of "might appear sound" and the evasion of "we gotta do something" without saying what we must do.

Further, just what is "in the middle?"

up here in Canada , big fight on now about a carbon tax .... not really sure I like the sound of this or understand how it will work , estimates are it would put fuel up a minimum of "5 cents" a litre immediately .... that almost 25 cents a gallon for the USA measure .... guess I would have to pay it with the hope somehow this new tax would save the world instead of lining someone's pocket ....

and herein lies the problem. just where or whom winds up with the money and how is it spent? where i am at in tennessee we have a group that buys up bottom land to convert it to swamp land and is getting rich selling to people or even the state so they can dry up wet lands at a rate of you buy 2 for 1 acres at a rediculas price to fix nothing other than moving the swamp and putting money in there pockets.

Apparently British Columbia and Nova Scotia have most users of the weed .... maybe Gov. will make enough money to "go green" , you just never know ....yesterday was first day to go on sale , my 65 year old sister in-law went to store but line ups were too long for her .....

Yes things have changed a lot in past 45 yrs or so .... think maybe Gov. has taken the fun out of it by making legal ... no need for young ones to sneak around and avoid the establishment , that is now making $ from what used to be a way to rebel ... fellow across the road from me has bad back and he takes some kind of oil drops the Doc gave him , no “high” affect but he say it does help his back ... he a very fast guy on 2 wheels and shows no effects on road from the oil ... he is 16 yrs younger than I so maybe just seems fast .....

You have taken this out of context,

The full statement that I was meaning to quote was “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing” Quote; Edmund Burke.

We already know that climate change is on the way which will have far reaching consequences not just for the human race but practically every living creature on this planet - Trump and his ilk were just burying his head in the sand -there cannot be a better description for it.

We can continue burning fossil fuel as we are now and the sooner climate change will come – it is already upon us. At that rate there will be nothing left of this world for our kids to inherit.

I don’t claim to know the answer to the continuous burning creating those greenhouse gases in the atmosphere but I do know that the planet earth will keep on going round the Sun whilst we will find it very difficult to breathe. . . . . what is worse is good men did nothing. . . . .

What I do about people such as Trump is go on Facebook with well-constructed arguments and I never make unwarranted slurs. There are still some rational voters left in many countries. These days the Nazis do not have total control over the media, because we have social media. If you rationally and calmly point out where Trump is in error, you can do more good than by lambasting him.

    Are you accusing me of goading Trump or isn’t it the other way round? Over 2 years ago it was claimed that the ice caps were melting -some people just didn’t believe it, despite the fact of Global warming and that they had to move the Antarctic base back;

I think Trump has developed a thick enough skin to be immune for constructive criticism- or maybe he hasn’t. . . .

Maybe it's his skull that's thick, rather than his skin.

think the word "Greed" relates to most politicos not just the man in power in USA .... all decisions made based on profits for themselves , family and friends .... not the voters , or environment , etc. ..... what do I know though , just a very casual observer .... living in a forgotten location .....

Many people are not happy unless they are buying possessions. If you look at any of the photos or videos of Trump's apartment, it is full of STUFF - most of which is in very bad taste. A lot depends on values, of which price is supposed to be a measure. Cost, price, wealth, and value all have subtle differences in meaning. - Americans do not do subtle very well. Of late their movies are improving, so there is hope for them yet. A lot depends on whether you are money-motivated or altruistic. Scientists are usually altruistic idiots, so very few of them ever become wealthy.

Bernhard, ya still got nuthin. You admit you don’t know what to do but jump up and down flapping your arms insisting that we do something

Typical NPC. Canned non-think. Rote repetition.

In Australia, our government is now in a bit of a frenzy. They toppled the Prime Minister who then resigned causing a by-election. It was won by an independent which has caused a hung parliament. She is a straight-thinking scientist and a lesbian, which will get right up our conservatives' noses. But along with three other independents on the cross-benches, she will hold the balance of power in the lower house.
